I gave an agent a brand brief and asked it to produce a full campaign — creative, copy, landing page, social calendar. Four hours later, here is what came out and where the human still matters.

A Brief, a Timer, and a Question
Here's what I just tried: a friend launched a specialty coffee brand last month — direct-to-consumer, small batch, sourced from a single farm in Ethiopia. She had a brand brief, a product, and no budget for a marketing agency. She asked how much it would cost to get a full campaign — social creative, a launch landing page, email copy, and a hero video.
My freelance-market estimate: $8,000-$14,000 and two to three weeks with a small agency. I said "or give me a Saturday." Four hours later, here's what came out.
The Stack
• Midjourney v7 — all static visual creative: hero images, product shots, social square and story formats
• Runway Gen-4 — the hero video: a 30-second brand film generated from a text prompt and Midjourney stills
• ElevenLabs — voiceover for the hero video; I used their voice design feature to create a custom brand voice
• Notion AI — email sequences, social captions, and the landing page copy
• Framer — the landing page; AI site generator as starting point, then customized
The Four-Hour Breakdown
Hour 1 — Visual identity. I fed the brand brief into Claude to extract a visual direction statement — three sentences on the aesthetic, mood, and color palette. That became the master Midjourney prompt suffix appended to every image. Consistency is what makes AI-generated creative feel like a campaign rather than a random collection of images.
Midjourney v7 produced about 60 images across four prompt variations. I selected 12 finals — hero shot, three product detail images, six social crops, two lifestyle images. Total generation cost: about $0.80 in Midjourney credits.
Hour 2 — Video and audio. Runway Gen-4: slow push into the coffee bag, steam rising, cut to a hand against an Ethiopian sunrise, close on the brand logo. Three generations, selected the best, extended to 28 seconds. ElevenLabs voiceover: 60-word script, three voice variations, picked the one that fit, mixed against a royalty-free track from Pixabay.
Hour 3 — Copy. Notion AI handled: 3-email welcome sequence, 30-day social calendar with Instagram and TikTok captions, and landing page hero copy with three feature blocks. First drafts were 80% usable. I spent 40 minutes editing — tightening the brand voice, replacing generic phrases, adding a specific farm detail that only a careful reader would notice.
Hour 4 — The landing page. Framer's AI site generator gave me a functional structure in 15 minutes. Visual customization — swapping in Midjourney images, adjusting the color palette, embedding the Runway video — took another 45 minutes. Mailchimp embed for email capture. Live with a custom subdomain in under an hour.
Where It Almost Went Wrong
Runway Gen-4's video quality is incredible until it isn't. Two of my three generations had motion artifacts — the coffee bag shimmered unnaturally, and one generation produced a hand with six fingers. The third was clean. This is the current state: budget for multiple generations and have taste about what's good enough.
The bigger near-miss was brand voice inconsistency across copy outputs. Notion AI's drafts for the email sequence, social captions, and landing page all had subtly different tones. Without a consistent filter, the campaign would have felt disjointed.
Fix: I wrote a 200-word brand voice guide after hour one ("warm but not precious, specific rather than aspirational — the brand says 'we found this farm' not 'we discovered an extraordinary terroir'") and prepended it to every subsequent Notion AI prompt. That guide was worth more than any single tool in the stack.
The Number
Total tool cost: $47. Midjourney: $0.80. Runway: $12. ElevenLabs: $5. Notion AI: included in subscription. Framer: free tier. Domain: $14/year.
The equivalent agency scope — I pulled quotes from three small agencies for comparison — ranged from $8,500 to $13,000 with a 2-3 week timeline. The AI output isn't equivalent (more variations, more strategy, more polish per asset), but for a bootstrapped brand launching with no budget, it's the difference between launching this month and launching next quarter.
Try This
1. Write a visual direction statement before you touch Midjourney — three sentences, maximum. Use it as a suffix on every image prompt. Consistency is a function of this constraint, not luck.
2. Write your brand voice guide in hour one, not as an afterthought. Paste it at the top of every copy prompt for the rest of the session.
3. Budget for three Runway generations per video — assume one will have artifacts, one will be okay, one will be good. Pick the good one.
4. Use Framer's AI generator as a structural starting point, then spend your time on visual customization. Don't start from a blank canvas.
5. Cost the full campaign at the end and share the number — the comparison to agency quotes is how you justify the tooling subscriptions to yourself and to clients.
